Directions
(Sat Nav will only take you as far as the village – not to the Lodges)
Approaching
from the south or east towards Kyle of Lochalsh on the A87, pass through the village of Reraig with the Balmacara Hotel on your
right. Take the next right turn (just
past the war memorial on your right) signposted to Balmacara. Pass straight through the village of Balmacara,
up the hill, and follow the signs for Plockton and Duirinish for around 3 miles.
On reaching Duirinish continue straight
on, over the bridge, and after 20 yards take the right turn signposted to
Achmore and Strome Ferry. One hundred yards
down the road you will see the entrance to Duirinish Holiday Lodges on the
right.
Approaching
from Kyle of Lochalsh follow the signs to Plockton. After 4 miles you will pass through the village of Duirinish. Turn left over the bridge, towards Plockton,
and 20 yards along the road take the right turn signposted to Achmore and
Strome Ferry. One hundred yards down the
road you will see the entrance to Duirinish Holiday Lodges on the right.
Approaching from Inverness and the north on the A890. Please note that this road is currently blocked near Strome Ferry with no re-opening date yet. They are allowing cars to drive along the railway line between trains but there can be long delays. You should avoid this route if you can - you may not get through. The road is closed from 7pm to 7am and the diversion is 140 miles long via Inverness and Lochness! Should you get past the landslide follow the road for about 5 miles then turn right into the village of Achmore, also signposted to Plockton. Stay on this single track road for approximately 4 miles (ignore the right turn to Plockton after about 3 miles). You will go past a small loch on your left and about half a mile later you will come to a cattle grid just around a bend. We are on the left just before the cattle grid.
