Plockton winter weather has been its usual unpredictable self! For the last 3 winters ice and snow have left many of the Lodges frozen solid and unoccupiable. This winter I conceeded that I had finally had enough of crawling under Lodges and trying to defrost pipes with hair driers and fan heaters, and I decided to close for 3 months. Consequently we have only had a couple of light frosts so far! Someone up there is laughing at me!
We have, however, had some strong winds, and although we are shelterd in our little valley we have lost 2 trees and the fence around the childrens play area. Other than that no damage to report. The baubles from my outside Christmas Tree were strewn across the site but luckily the dog came in very handy retreiving the ones that had blown under the Lodges. I knew she would have some use one day!
